In the PvP community, Doxxing is a prevalent issue, and has to be handled with care.

It’s a term that is thrown around for a lot of cases and not really used correctly.

ℹ️ Only Administrator and above may handle Doxxing reports.

🤔 What do we consider Doxxing?

We consider doxxing to be:

“The unconsented sharing of personal information that can be used to identify an individual.”

💬 Most common case

The most often scenario of “Doxxing” is where a user has, for example, a picture of their face shared in a group chat.

In this scenario, we often check who the picture was shared with, and try to find out how it was spread. Usually, the source of the picture is from the “victim” sharing it themselves - which falls on their own fault.

🖥️ IP Leaking

We do punish for leaking IPs. It’s commonly misunderstood that IPs are dangerous in “bad actors’” hands. This is not the case - very little can be done if a bad actor has your IP.

Furthermore, changing your IP can be as easy as switching on and off your router or, for static IP addresses, contacting your ISP to have it changed manually.

However, we will still punish for it, scaling with the amount of users affected, and how the IPs were obtained and used.

❓ Verdicts

Every situation is different, and punishments vary extremely widely to suit the scenario.

These reports are almost always handled by multiple Administrators to agree on and determine a suitable outcome.
